Today I used MS Word to write my evaluation on my photography assignment instead of using the Dictaphone. I found it harder to write words on the computer than using the Dictaphone but it is a good way to learn to spell new words.

Today I researched different learning styles and found out what my learning styles were. I am a visual learner which means I prefer to been shown how do something. I also learn by listening to teacher’s instruction.

I did a new print of my collection of different materials and pictures onto a piece of material as the last piece didn’t work because it hadn’t quite dried yet.

Evaluation - I did a new piece because the last piece didn’t work properly and I was unhappy with the finished result. This time I remade it with less picture’s and dried it with a hair dryer for longer. I also used a less wet sponge than before. So the paper didn’t get so wet and rub away.

Targets I would like to achieve by the end of the course are improve my tidiness and working to a deadline. Being pleased with what I have achieved and being pleased with what given to work on.

Remember the five word meanings to use when reflecting on the Dictaphone.

On Friday morning I drew a picture from a small part of a photograph I took of the studio on floor 3. I learnt a new skill of drawing making a mark really hard on the paper then painted over the lines and rolled ink with a roller and print press

Today I learnt and understood what visual recording means. Today I researched the meanings of the six level three words, explain –clarify summarise- justify- evaluate- analyse and wrote down my own description of the meanings so I could remember them and I learnt a better way of learning about stuff on the internet.

Today I did monoprinting using textured paper, materials and feathers.

29/11/12

Today I started my assemblage. I am doing a face of me. I am using cloth and bottle tops, photocopies and photos, used card board boxes, prints to create my picture. I used corrugated card to create my lips and some old headphones to make my ears. I have been using the glue gun to add things to the grey card to create relief.

On reflection I didn’t really like it but from taking it to my dad’s studio I have turned it into something I like.

30/ 11/12

Today I cut out mono prints and used them for image transfer and it turned out really well. Then we all took a piece of cloth and put it into a embroidery ring and then we all learned a new stitch. I learn visually by watching the teacher do a demonstration

In the afternoon I chose to be with the group that took photographs and edited them on Photoshop. I learnt how to use different effects and filters

There was a blur effect and a glow filter.

Today we updated and resubmitted two sections of the assignments Heartlands and Identity. We did this on the Dictaphone.

Researched album cover in the mac suite. And come up with ideas for our album cover. I came up with the idea of using a sand timer to show how the songs on the album have a slow feeling.

11/12/12

Spoke about my identity pieces and wrote up about them on Word.

Then I researched about the album artist on the computer and found out about how they came up with the original album of a drain cover with raised metal checker plate.

I learnt how to research using the right words in Google.

Continued with researched on typography and in the afternoon we all had a painting work shop to give us more ideas for our album cover.

I wrote up my evaluation on my choice of album cover and the Text and font I used to make it look like it was made in the 1970’s.

Today I completed the sketchbook for the album cover assignment and stuck in all the pictures and research and wrote what each one was about.

And I found it difficult to finish the work on time.

Today I will be creating my five week planner and preparing New Year targets.
